I don’t know what it is about Thanksgiving and pie, but it is a tradition that seems to be common to every holiday table. As someone who enjoys decorating desserts, pie has never been a particular interest of mine since there is seems to be so few ways to change up a pie crust top. But alas, my Dad loves a good apple pie and, who I am to deny my family a pie on the pie-holiday itself. So with great trepidation, I tried my hand at Hoot Owl Apple Pie. Now, sorry, I’m not making my pie crust from scratch here. There are only so many hours in the day, and I’m cooking most of the Turkey Day meal as well so we are going cheat a bit here and use refrigerated pie crust. Don’t worry, with a little love, we can fix it up quite nicely and, with our homemade apple filling, no one will ever know. Crust
