A Cheesy Wreath and Gooey Tree: Last Minute Christmas Appetizers to Get You Through the Season12/13/2021 From the office holiday party to the neighborhood block bash to the Christmas dinners with your in-laws, the holiday season seems to present us with never ending opportunities to present food and baked goods. Personally, I love it. But for those of you who would rather not spend hours in the kitchen, or are just a little short on time, here are two easy, but adorably festive appetizers to get you through the season. Christmas Tree Cheese Bread This is an adaptation from a recipe I got from Pillsbury*, with some tweaks I made to give it even more holiday flavor. It is super easy and fast, and can be prepared ahead of time and baked right before serving. While in this recipe we used our favorite spreadable cheese, feel free to experiment with other flavors of cheese, or even get creative and substitute the cheese for your favorite preserves or fruit spread and replace the butter/parsley topping with a little powdered sugar dusting for a quick dessert! Ingredients:
‘Cheeze-mas’ Wreath I don’t know about you, but I could probably live off nothing but cheese (and ice cream) for the rest of my life. If you share this sentiment, then this is the appetizer for you. It can literally be made at any time and stored covered in the refrigerator. It is perfect to keep some cheese cubes on hand to throw this cute dish together at a moment’s notice. Ingredients:
• Place cheese cubes around the edge of the plate, leaving a circle in the middle. • Scatter red and green grapes and cherry tomatoes throughout • Carefully slice a red pepper to form two half oval pieces and two straight strips. • Place the half ovals and strips at the bottom of the wreath in the shape of a bow • Dress up with leaves and any other garnishes you desire and enjoy!
