There is a point every year that the city goes around and puts up Christmas lights and decorations on the street lamps, and suddenly everything just feels cheerier. It’s crazy how some lights can change the entire atmosphere, but I swear it does. And with that holiday spirit comes the tradition of baked goods, holiday parties, feast, and dozens upon dozens of Christmas cookies. Never fear though! Here you will find a way to take a simple boxed cake mix and create three different cute holiday treats.

A Cheesy Wreath and Gooey Tree: Last Minute Christmas Appetizers to Get You Through the Season12/13/2021 From the office holiday party to the neighborhood block bash to the Christmas dinners with your in-laws, the holiday season seems to present us with never ending opportunities to present food and baked goods. Personally, I love it. But for those of you who would rather not spend hours in the kitchen, or are just a little short on time, here are two easy, but adorably festive appetizers to get you through the season.
This is a family tradition for Thanksgiving. It seems super strange when you think about it, but the combination really works, and it is super easy. It is perfect to take to holiday parties as well. They come out looking very impressive and are unique enough to bring something different to the table. Enjoy!
I don’t know what it is about Thanksgiving and pie, but it is a tradition that seems to be common to every holiday table. As someone who enjoys decorating desserts, pie has never been a particular interest of mine since there is seems to be so few ways to change up a pie crust top. But alas, my Dad loves a good apple pie and, who I am to deny my family a pie on the pie-holiday itself. So with great trepidation, I tried my hand at Hoot Owl Apple Pie.
Now, sorry, I’m not making my pie crust from scratch here. There are only so many hours in the day, and I’m cooking most of the Turkey Day meal as well so we are going cheat a bit here and use refrigerated pie crust. Don’t worry, with a little love, we can fix it up quite nicely and, with our homemade apple filling, no one will ever know. The leaves are changing color and falling to the ground. The breeze is turning chilly and the coats are coming out. You know what that means? That's right. It's pie season, people. But what happens when you don't want to commit to a whole pie? Or you want a smaller treat guests can grab and go? Or you want something just plain cute? I introduce you to the best of both worlds combination: Pie and Cookies.
This Brown Sugar Pie Cookies recipe is super easy. Even better, you can sub the homemade brown sugar filling with your favorite jarred preserves or even a thin layer of pre-made pie filling depending on how much time and effort you want to commit! Ever had a burning desire for cake for breakfast? Ever tell yourself that you shouldn't eat cake for breakfast? Well, I have the solution. Here I present you a cake that is meant to be eaten for breakfast (or any other time really). This cake is not super sugary sweet that will make you crash mid morning or too heavy to eat early in the day. Instead it is light and fluffy, and just sweet enough to give you a little treat. And, hey, we even threw in some blueberries to make it healthy :).
To make these cakes individual size and easy to grab for breakfast, I used my set of Wilson 6 inch layer cake pans. They are perfect for little desserts and treats like these, as they can create small baked goods at the perfect thickness. Afflilate link here: Wilton Easy Layers 5-Piece Layer Cake Pan Set. I highly recommend them! They are inexpensive and can be used to make many things! What Halloween would be complete without a witch's hat or two? This fun recipe is a great one to let the kids get involved decorating the "witch's hats" and adding their own flair.
